The Delivery of Energy Technology Options
Present problems are often ascribed to 'Market Failures',
including:
- End-users are not motivated (or able) to find the required
information.
- Energy costs are generally only a small fraction of their
budgets.
- Often the required information - notably on product
testing and approval - is lacking.
- Yet the domestic sector markets for gas and electricity
are each worth over £ 5 billion a year.
- End-users lack access to low cost capital, and may
apply test discounts of 25 % p.a. or more.
- Yet for sound investments, large organizations can
borrow money at 5 % p.a. or less.
