Modelling the UK Energy System
- A simple model was created, with four Final Energy
sectors, five end-uses, and the chosen Options.
- Demand Reductions of 30 % were assumed for all four
sectors.
- The Carbon Emissions Target was constrained to -60
%.
- Oil consumption was constrained to Air, Marine, and
Rail, plus 10 % of Road Transport.
- Gas consumption was usually limited by the Carbon Emissions
Target.
- The marginal fuel was assumed to be Imported
Ethanol.
- Solutions were obtained for Land Fractions (for bio-energy)
from 0 to 0.2 of the UK.
- Solutions were obtained for Renewable Electricity from
0 to 200 TWh/y.
